John Christopher Depp II ( Owensboro, June 9, 1963 ) is an American actor.
- After a few small parts, Johnny broke through in earnest in 1987 with the hit show 21 Jump Street, in which he played undercover agent Tom Hanson. He became a teen idol.
- Depp played his character Captain Jack Sparrow so convincingly that the question arose whether he would ever be able to equal this success in a different genre. But ... this actor has shown time and again that he will not easily be put in a box.
- Did you know that ... Johnny’s great-grandmother Minnie was a full-blood Cherokee Indian? Johnny also has Irish and German ancestors, and likes to tell people that his last name means “idiot” in German?
