WE'RE OPEN! Covid-19 Update: In line with updated advice from the UK Government, from the 14th September we encourage all guests to adhere to the latest guidance and not meet in groups of more than six people* to help protect themselves and each other when visiting our attraction. As a COVID-19 Secure venue we can still host larger numbers in total but groups of up to 6 must not mix or form larger groups. The Morecambe and Wise Show, which ran from 1968-1977 proved to be a golden period in their TV careers.

Famous Facts

  • During the Morcambe and Wise Show the writers developed the relationship between the two, with Eric as the childlike common man and Ernie as the slightly pompous aspiring playwright.
  • Their end-of-year Christmas specials became wildly popular in the 1970s – with the 1977 show attracting over 28 million viewers
  • Both Morecambe and Wise were awarded an OBE in 1976.
